In a significant triumph for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), both Afghanistan and Nepal have expressed their readiness to partic🦄ipate in the 2023 Asia Cup matches🌠 to be held in Pakistan.
The PCB has reportedly received firm commitments from the cricket boards of Afghanistan and Nepal, ensuring that their respective teams will face no obstacles in traveling to Pakistan for the tournament scheduled in September. With Bangladesh already confirming its intentions to participate, the PCB’s optimism has grown, as four out of the six participating teams have now approved the proposed hybrid model. The PCB hopes that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will endorse the concept.
Sri Lanka has also shown support for the proposed model, raising concerns only about the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the neutral venue due to the heat. The PCB has reiterated its willingness to adjust the venue if necessary, depending on the prevailing circumstances.
There is growing anticipation that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will also agree to the arrangements, as India does not have any scheduled matches in Pakistan. If successful, this resolution could potentially address the issue of Pakistan’s participation in the World Cup as well.
Overall, the PCB’s efforts have yielded positive results, as Afghanistan and Nepal’s agreement to compete in Pakistan marks a significant milestone in ensuring the smooth conduct of the 2023 Asia Cup.
