After four years, except for the World Cup, the whole of football runs with club-level competitions. India’s World Cup-winning legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev thinks so.

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Kapil said, “International cricket is becoming increasingly dirty. The ICC now has a much bigger responsibility to protect the game. It’s becoming like European football. In football, the country does not play much with the country, it plays once in four years. Is this happening in cricket as well, only the World Cup and club cricket for the rest of the time? Will the cricketers also play only in the IPL, Big Bash, or similar leagues at the end of the day? The ICC will have to take more time to see how they can protect ODI cricket and Test match cricket, not just club cricket. ’

It is to be noted that franchise leagues were limited to IPL, Big Bash, PSL, T20 Blast, CPL, BPL, and LPL for so long. The League of The United Arab Emirates and the League of South Africa are going to start again. Both will start in January. International cricket, incl�♒�uding other leagues, will be in trouble. Sadly, the truth is that the ICC is also giving importance to the franchise leagues now. The Indian cricket legend is therefore urging the ICC to take initiative to protect international cricket.
