Ebadot sidelined for T20 World Cup 2024

Minhajul Abedin Nannu, the chi𝔉ef selector, confirmed that Ebadot will be unavailable until August due to his ACL injury.

Bangladesh fast bowler Ebadot Hossain might not play in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup next year because he’s still recovering from a knee surgery he had in August. Chief selector Minhajul Abedin shared that Ebadot suffered an ACL injury in July during a series against Afghanistan, which led to him missing the ODI World Cup in October-November. Now, it seems the injury could also rule him out of the T20 World Cup in June in the West Indies and the USA.

“There is a possibility that Ebadot will return to action in the next domestic season which will begin with the first-class competition in the coming August or September,” said the chief selector.

“He is still in rehab. It won’t be possible for him to come back before that,” he added.

Minhajul shared some pꦡositive news, mentioning that Taskin Ahmed, a crucial fast bowler for the national team who has been recovering from an injury since the ODI World Cup, will be making a comeback in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League nextও month.

“Taskin is fine, he will start with the BPL,” said the former Bangladesh captain.
