The third Test between India and Australia was played in Indore. Australia won by 9 wickets in the first session of the third day on a dead pitch there. At the end of the match, the ICC labeled Indore’s pitch as ‘poor and bad’. Also gives 3 demerit points. An appeal against the decision was kept within 14 days from March 4. Using that opportunity, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can challenge the decision sent by the match referee Chris Board to the ICC.
In this regard, a BCCI official said, ‘We will consider the matter very carefully and carefully and then take a decision.’Earlier last year, the Pakistan Cricket Board had won a challenge to the Rawalpindi venue’s decision to award demerit points and the demerit points were lifted. BCCI also wants to move along that path. Because Indore is at risk of getting banned for getting three demerit points. If it gets two more demerit points in the next five years, the venue will be banned for one year. And no international matches can be organized during this period.
