The ODI World Cup will be held in India in 2023. There are concerns about Pakistan’s participation in that tournament. Former PAKISTAN Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja had warned that if the Indian team does not go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, then the Pakistan team will not travel to India to play the World Cup. Ramiz is no longer in charge of the PCB.
India wants the Asia Cup to be shifted to a neutral venue instead of Pakistan. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has made it clear that India will not play in the Asia Cup in Pakistan. However, the PCB is adamant about its position. PCB’s new chairman Najam Sethi has also said that the government’s decision is final. Outgoing PCB chairman Ramiz Raja again talked about the matter in an interview. “Are we servants of India? They consider themselves one of the most powerful in world cricket. Will we abide by everything from them?’
“When the Asian Cricket Council has given Pakistan the responsibility of hosting the Asia Cup, they have to look into it. India does not want to come to play or they will not play, so this move to change the venue cannot be accepted. It is not right to move them to a neutral venue because they will not come to play. It can’t be a solution. ’
