The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) backed out of its rivalry with India over hosting the Asia Cup. Although Pakistan is the host of the Asia Cup to be held in September, India is not willing to go and play in that country. On the other hand, Pakistan also threatened that if India does not go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, they will not go to India to play the ODI World Cup! PCB ✤chairman Najam Shetty changed his tune.

The India-Pakistan bilateral series has been suspended for a decade due to political disputes. The two teams meet only in ACC and ICC tournaments. India is not willing to play on Pakistani soil due to political reasons. PCB proposed a hybrid Asia Cup to solve the problem. That is, India’s matches will be played at neutral venues. And the remaining matches will be in Pakistan.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka along with India did not agree to this proposal. The PCB chief Najam Shetty got angry. A day later, he changed his tune and said in an interview with ‘Sports Hour’, “England can be the venue of the Asia Cup.” After this statement of the PCB chief, it is believed that the PCB has moved away from the position of organizing the Asia Cup in its own country.
