Specialized Camps at National Cricket Academy to Bolster Pakistan’s Bowling and Batting Units
Thirteen spinners and eleven fast bowlers have been selected to participate in specialized men’s camps at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore this month. The aim is to cultivate a strong and talented core ahead of an exciting and challenging season. Additionally, fourteen batters will join the two camps, which are scheduled to run from June 10th to 15th for spinners and June 16th to 21st for fast bowlers.
Players from the Pakistan men’s team, Shaheens, and U19 sides have been invited by the men’s national selection committee to train under the guidance of coaches from the national team and the NCA.
These camps will play a crucial role in determining the best possible squad for Pakistan’s two-Test series against Sri Lanka in July. This series marks the national side’s first assignment in the third cycle of the World Test Championship.
By organizing separate camps for spinners and fast bowlers, the players will have the opportunity to bowl longer spells in sꩲpecially designed sessions. This will not only enhance their skill levels but also test their fitness under challenging weather conditions. Similarly, the batters will have extended periods of batting, which is essential for the upcoming tour.
Bringing players from various levels together will also facilitate the implementation of “The Pakistan Way” in the upcoming players, ensuring they understand the expectations of the national side as they progress in their careers. Furthermore, this will provide an opportunity for the younger players to benefit from the experience of senior team players.
Players who have received No-Objection Certificates to participate in County cricket or other leagues will continue to feature in those tournaments. However, Moha𒁏mmad Nawaz (recovering from a finger injury), Sarfaraz Ahmed (personal commitments), Babar Azam, and 🏅Mohammad Rizwan (traveling for Hajj) have been exempted from the camp.
