The BCCI has extended the contract of head coach Rahul Dravid and his team. This decision follows the conclusion of the Cricket World Cup 2023. Despite speculation about a new coach, Dravid’s extension was agreed upon. The contract length is still unknown. Before Dravid’s extension, the BCCI approached Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra for the T20 national team coach role. Nehra declined due to his commitments with the IPL franchise, Gujarat Titans. Nehra emphasized his commitment to his contract with GT until 2025 and mentioned that he might consider a white-ball coach role for the national team in the future. Dravid’s contract length is also unknown, but he is expected to guide the team until the T20 World Cup 2024, with a decision about his continued association with the national team to be made afterward. Nehra’s current contract with Gujarat Titans runs until 2025, and considering the loss of their captain, Hardik Pandya, the franchise is reluctant to release their in-demand coach. Nehra did not want to force a move.
