The Bangladesh women’s cricket team aims to secure their first-ever series win against South Africa in any format. They face the hosts in the final Twenty20 match in Kimberly today. In the series opener on December 3, leg-spinner Shorna Akter’s five-wicket performance led the Tigresses to a 13-run victory in Benoni, marking their first win on South African soil in any format. Despite the second match being affected by rain and ending in a no result, the visitors can’t lose the series. Led by Nigar Sultana Joty, the team is eager to clinch a historic series win. Following the T20s, Bangladesh will compete in a three-match ODI series against South Africa, starting on December 16 at Buffalo Park in East London. To prepare for the 50-over format, they will play a tour match at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on December 12 before heading to Potchefstroom for the second ODI. The tour concludes with the third and final ODI back in Benoni, wrapping up their South Africa tour.
